Rings in particular are exposed to frequent contact and impact, so we recommend taking extra care with pieces worn every day.

Perfumes, cosmetics, lotions, hairsprays, chlorine, household cleaning products, and other chemicals can affect precious metals and gemstones.

Apply perfumes, lotions, and cosmetics before putting on your jewellery and allow them to dry first. Avoid bleach, chlorine, and other harsh chemicals.

Prongs and settings can become worn or damaged over time, particularly with frequent daily wear. If you notice a loose stone, bent prong, unusual movement, or change in the setting, stop wearing the piece and contact Asteria.

For routine cleaning, gently clean your jewellery using a soft, lint-free cloth.

If deeper cleaning is required, contact Asteria for appropriate guidance based on the specific jewellery and gemstones involved. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh household cleaning products.

Do not use ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners, or chemical jewellery cleaners unless Asteria has specifically confirmed that they are suitable for your piece.

• Avoid allowing pieces to rub against one another.
• Keep chains fastened when storing them to reduce tangling.

Rings generally experience more everyday contact than other jewellery. If you wear your ring daily, periodically check the setting for visible changes.

If a stone appears loose or the setting feels different, remove the ring and contact Asteria before continuing to wear it. Do not attempt to tighten a stone or repair a setting yourself.

Diamonds are durable, but the jewellery surrounding the diamond still requires care. Avoid unnecessary impact and harsh chemicals and regularly inspect the setting, particularly for jewellery worn every day.

Precious metals can naturally develop scratches and changes in surface appearance with regular wear. This is a normal characteristic of fine jewellery and does not necessarily indicate a manufacturing defect.

Polishing and refinishing can restore appearance when appropriate, but these are maintenance services and may be chargeable.

Jewellery featuring engraving, intricate detailing, delicate settings, or specially designed structures may require additional care and may have limitations regarding resizing or alteration.

For jewellery that is worn frequently, particularly engagement rings and other everyday pieces, we recommend periodic professional inspection to identify loose stones, worn or damaged prongs, setting movement, metal wear, and other issues.

If your jewellery is accidentally damaged, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Contact Asteria before taking the jewellery to another jeweller so we can advise on next steps and determine whether the issue may be covered under the Asteria Craftsmanship Warranty.

We recommend removing jewellery before swimming, bathing, or showering. Chlorinated and salt water can be particularly harsh on jewellery, while soap and residue can accumulate around settings and surfaces. If jewellery comes into contact with water, dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth.

When travelling, keep jewellery securely stored in a protective jewellery case or pouch. Do not place loose jewellery in luggage where it can become scratched, tangled, or damaged.
